atlasshruggedIt’s not everyday that I get free books to read and review but today, that’s what I got. Thanks to Munirah Hayati Muhtar, my comrade in the Bar Council Constitutional Law Committee and the Insitute for Democracy & Economic Affairs (IDEAS), I received two copies of Atlas Shrugged (50th Anniversary Edition), by Ayn Rand.

Until Munirah told me about her, I had no inkling who Ayn Rand was and how significant her book is. Atlas Shrugged was ranked only second to the Bible as the book that made the most difference in American readers’ lives. I haven’t read the book yet, obviously but from the reviews and commentary, this is one I am looking forward to spending time on.

Look out for my review soon. Thank you again, Munirah and IDEAS.

Ayn Rand has been on my radar for a year. She is American ex-head of federal reserve Allan Greenspan’s good friend.

You said you had two copies? Are you giving one away or hosting a giveaways? I have some extras copies of books at home too that I thought could send it your way… but after the two lost shipment of books back to Malaysia, I’m feeling a bit jittery… Some bozos at my post office told me it is because of the Volcanic Ash in Iceland. But 3 months and the parcel did not arrive??!!! a bit too long right?

do you think the Pos Malaysia can be trusted?

    Hi JoV,

It would seem the mail got lost thanks to Royal Mail before Pos Malaysia even got a chance to exercise its usual incompetence!

Such a pity those books are gone. What titles did you send, by the way?

Eat, love and Pray by Elizabeth Gilbert and CS Lewis’ Christianity to a devouted Christian friends of mine. The Short history of Ukrainian Tractors and Random act of Heroic Love to another school friend who just gone through a tough divorce… Girls stuff. I really got books for you on my stack, to send or not to send? :)

Ayn Rand’s “Fountainhead” seems to be another of her notable work.

Munirah, I would love to hook up with book lovers from Malaysia, your book chat will be a good place to start, is any free copy of Atlas Shrugged coming my way??!!
